Port Device Name Editor

Choose Window ► External Devices ► Show Port Device Name Editor to edit associations between port names and device names. The editor has a table listing port names and devices names, the default device name for each port is the same as the port name. You can edit the device name, but not the port name. Device names must be unique. The Delete Device Name button removes the selected row from the table.

When macOS reports a newly discovered serial port to SkookumLogger, the name of the port is printed in the Status window. If you have defined a device name for that port, it is also printed in the Status window.
