Log Import, Export and Reports
Log Import
Before importing, confirm that your current log is compatible with the type of contest exchange information in the file you intend to import.
File ▶ Import Cabrillo… peeks into a Cabrillo file to confirm that the version is at least 3.0, and that the contest for the file matches the contest for the current log, based on their Cabrillo Names. If so, the log is cleared and the content of the file is used to populate the log’s Cabrillo settings and the log’s QSOs. The logger that created the Cabrillo file and the claimed score are displayed in the Status Messages window. See Master List of Cabrillo Names .
File ▶ Merge WSJT-X ADIF… reads a file of Data mode QSOs in ADIF format created by WSJT-X, and adds those QSOs to the current log.
File ▶ Merge RoverLog Cabrillo… reads a Cabrillo file created by the RoverLog app and adds those QSOs to the current log.
Log Export
File ▶ Export ADIF generates a text file in ADIF format from your log. This facility is used for getting your contest QSOs into other software that can read ADIF files. ADIF has a prodigious number of fields; most have nothing to do with contesting. SkookumLogger exports basic fields describing each QSO, including some exchange information, but does not attempt to distribute all exchange data into specific ADIF fields. The best way to see which ADIF fields are exported is to look at the resulting file with any text editor.
File ▶ Export to Numbers generates a list of your contest QSOs in comma-separated-values format. This format is readable by any spreadsheet application. The first line in the CSV file contains column titles. Checkmarks in the SkookumLogger log table are represented by the number 1; absence of a checkmark is indicated by an empty value. The last column in each record, labeled Index, is a simple record counter starting at 1. Drag the icon for the CSV file onto the Numbers application to open a new spreadsheet and import the CSV file content into a table.
Log Reports
File ► Create Statistics Report processes your log to compute rate statistics and other summaries information, then open the report in your web browser. Use the browser to save the report. The processing is time-consuming for large logs and will block the SkookumLogger user interface until it completes.
File ► Adjudicate CWT Log checks a CWT log against the CWops roster and reports errors in the Log‘s Notes field. See Adjudicating CWTs .
File ► Rate Breakdown Report quickly prepares a rate sheet and displays it in your web browser.
File ► Per-band Log Files creates separate text files for each band, describing the QSOs in the format popularized by the CT by K1EA logging program. The files are written in the folder containing your log file.
