Magic Message
Note This feature does not apply in 2T2R mode, which is designed to support Begin QSO/End QSO .
Magic Message, designed by GØDVJ, transmits one of six CW messages when you choose the Messages ► Magic Message command, depending on the context of your active QSO entry box and on previously-sent messages. Define defaults for the six messages in new logs in your Messages preferences, CW tab. Choose Window ► Editors ► Show Morse Message Editor to customize the messages for an existing log. Define a key for triggering the Magic Message command in your Messages preferences, Special Keys tab.
The idea behind Magic Message is that you press the same key throughout a QSO and SkookumLogger figures out which of the six message to transmit. The following logic is applied when Run has transmit focus:
If the Run call entry field is empty, transmit the Run Begin (CQ) message.
Otherwise if your exchange has not been sent, transmit the Run Continue (his call and your exchange) message.
Otherwise transmit the Run End (typically acknowledge) message and log the QSO.
Different logic applies when Pounce has transmit focus:
If the Pounce call field is empty, clear all Pounce entry fields, change transmit focus and keyboard focus to Run, and transmit the Run Begin message. See CQ changes focus to Run in Messages Preferences .
Otherwise if the call entry field has keyboard focus, transmit the Pounce Begin (your call) message.
Otherwise if your exchange has not been sent, transmit the Pounce Continue (exchange) message.
Otherwise transmit the Pounce End message and log the QSO.
